4th Sunday of Advent

The Angels are Busy!

When the angels are not busy singing God’s praises
They are busy about God’s business!

Throughout Advent the angels were getting everything ready for the birth of Jesus.

First Gabriel appeared to Zechariah in Jerusalem and told him that Elizabeth was going to bear a son.
Then off Gabriel flies to Nazareth to ask Mary if she will bear God’s only begotten Son.
Then another angel appeared to Joseph in a dream to tell him not to be afraid to take Mary as his wife.
Then another angel told the shepherds that a Savior was born in the city of David, Christ the Lord.
Then a whole multitude of angles started singing, “Glory to God in the highest!”
Then after the Wise Men visited Jesus an angel warned them in a dream not to return to Herod.
And then another angel warned Joseph in a dream to take the Child and His mother and flee to Egypt.
And then another angel after Herod died appeared to Jospeh and told him to return to Nazareth.

Nothing has changed.
The angels are as busy as ever;
Guiding us and protecting us.
Messengers of God’s Peace and Presence.
Flying about sometimes so fast that we don’t notice them,

Or Maybe we are too busy flying around to notice them!

If you want to hear the flutter of angels wings
If you want hear Their Heavenly message.
Or the choir of angles singing;

Then Step out into the fields like the shepherds.
Gaze upon the stars like the Magi.
dare to dream like Joseph.
Or pray like Mary that whatever the Lord wants,
Let it be done to me.

And you just might see one fly by!
