Thursday 14th. Week of Ordinary time.

Do not count the cost. Mt. 10:7-15

One of St. Ignatius of Loyola’s prayers was,

Dear Lord,

teach me to be generous;

teach me to serve You as You deserve;

to give and not to count the cost,

to fight and not to heed the wounds,

to toil and not to seek for rest,

to labour and not to ask for reward

save that of knowing I am doing Your Will.

God gives to us freely, without cost.

We should be just as generous to give to God without counting the cost

Because God’s reward will be greater than any cost we might accrue.
