6th Sunday of Easter

Be ready to give an explanation 

1 Peter 3:15

Why do you put oil in your car?

Why do you do laundry?

Why do you lock the doors of your house?

These are simple ordinary things that we do that we have an explanation for. 

St. Peter told the early Christians to have an explanation for why they follow Jesus. 

Back in the day no one followed Christ. 

Most followed Moses, or Zeus or Athena or the emperor. 

So people would ask them why they follow Christ. 

And Peter told them to have an explanation ready.  

Today many people do not follow Christ 

They follow politicians or celebrities or personal opinions. 

And people want to know why we follow Christ 

Why we go to Church 

Why we turn the other cheek and love our enemies. 

And we need an explanation for them. 

Not some memorized, 

AI Explanation 

But a personal one from the heart.  

If we can’t then why are we here?
