Being Good Lk. 10:25-37
What does it mean to be Good?
Does it mean keeping the commandments?
Not hurting anyone?
Not being any worse than anyone else?
The Priest and the Levite, thought that they were Good.
After all they they kept the Sabbath;
They went to synagogue;
They kept the commandments.
But when they saw the man half dead by the side of the road,
They just kept going.
It turns out they weren’t as good as they thought.
When the Samaritan saw the man on the side of the road he stopped to help him.
This is why he is Good!
And became known as the “Good Samaritan.”
Jesus said that we must let our light shine
So that others can see our “good works.”Mt 5:16
Those who are good never have to talk about it because it shines for all to see.
God‘s goodness shines.
As He makes the sun rise on the good and the evil.
God, makes the rain fall on the just and the unjust, Mt. 5:45
Goodness is like the sun and the rain;
It falls everyone and on everyone,
And like the Good Samaritan so should ours!
