Thursday 13th Week of Ordinary Time

Feast of St. Thomas the Apostle

Feast of St. Thomas

The Courage to Doubt

Who of us don’t have doubts?

Doubts about life, love, the future, and life after death.

But how many of us have the courage to express our doubts?

Well Thomas did.

Because his doubts were real.

He lived with Jesus.

He walked with Him and ate and talked with Him.

So when he saw him scourged and Crucified and buried with his own eyes;

He had good reason to doubt.

Until he put his fingers in the nail marks and his hand in the side of Jesus.

Sometimes our doubts can feel just as real.

And then we have a choice.

Believe in our doubts;

Or believe in our Faith.

Doubts never gotten us anywhere.

Faith however has  gotten many people though the darkest night and the worst storms.

Maybe we aren’t as fortunate as Thomas who overcame his doubts by putting his fingers in the nail marks and his hand in the side of Jesus.

But we can overcome our doubts bu putting our Faith in Jesus.
