Friday 17th Week of Ordinary Time

Where are you from? Mt. 13:54-58

One of the first things we often ask someone when we first meet them is,

“Where are you from?”

Because this tells us a lot about the person. 

People thought they knew where Jesus was from. 

They thought He was from Nazareth;

The son of a carpenter. 

And so they could ignore His claims to be the Messiah. 

Familiarity can breed contempt. 

And if not contempt then a lack of Faith. 

Do not think you know God;

Do not think that the Mass is a routine of rituals;

God and the Mass are mysteries that we must continually

Investigate with Faith.
