33rd Sunday of Ordinary Time

 The Elect Mk. 13:24-32

As Christians,

We believe and we pray and wait for the Day,

When Jesus will return.

On that Day,

The Sun will go dark;

The Moon will no longer give its light;

The stars will fall from the sky;

And the only Light we will see

Is the Son of Man coming in all His glory,

Surrounded by His angels.

And He will send His angels out to gather His Elect,

On that Day no one is going to care,

Who won the game or what is for dinner.

On that Day all one is going to care about is if they one of the Elect.

So who are the Elect?

Some will try and tell you they are the 144,000

And others who will tell you they are the ones who did not accept the mark of the Beast.

Jesus Himself however tells us who are the Elect.

The Elect are those who Believe in Him. Jn. 3:15

The Elect are those who have been Baptized. Mk. 16:6

The Elect are those who Feed the Hungry and Clothe the Naked

And Visit the Sick and those in Prison. Mt. 25

The Elect are the Sincere of Heart that only Jesus knows. Mt. 5:8

So while Jesus holds the door open for many to enter His Kingdom

There are those who will stand outside and wail and gnash their teeth,

Because they refused to Believe in Him and be Baptized.

They refused to Feed the Hungry and Clothe the Naked

They refused to visit the Sick and those in Prison,

And while they said,”Lord! Lord!” Throughout their life,

They were not Sincere in their Hearts when they said it.

He warns us that we will not be released until we have paid the last Penny.

The Last Penny for what we have done and what we have failed to do.

But those pennies will be nothing

Compared to the Infinite Riches

in His Heavenly Kingdom.
