Christ the King II

The Kingdom of Heaven 

We have to face facts. 

The Kingdoms of this world will always be at war. 

Human history is littered with one war after another. 

If Humans are not at war over borders and resources;

Then They are at war with their words. 

Seeking to defeat the philosophy and political ideology of their enemies. 

So when Pilate asked Jesus if He was a King;

He wanted to know if Jesus was a threat to the Roman Emperor. 

If His teaching was contrary to those of the Roman Empire. 

And Jesus responded basically by saying,

that He had no interest in the petty battles between kings and kingdoms in this world,

Because His Kingdom does not belong to this world. 

His Kingdom, is the Kingdom of Heaven;

Where He alone is King. 

Pilate asks each one of us today,

“Is Jesus your KIng?”

Is He the One you serve?

Whose voice you listen to?

And what is our response?

Will we say that we do not belong to the kingdom of this world?

Will we say we have no dog in this fight;

And no interest in the things this world has to offer. 

That We want nothing to do with the kingdoms of this world. 

With its fools gold and passing pleasures. 

With its arguing and wars and divisions. 

Because We belong to the Kingdom of Heaven;

Where Jesus is King,
